MDP Live - Suzuki Ecstar rider, Joan Mir, confirmed that his condition is now fine after experiencing food poisoning during a pre-season test at the Mandalika Circuit last week.

Joan Mir's food poisoning was certainly very detrimental to himself and Suzuki. The reason is, the 24-year-old man couldn't help his partner, Alex Rins, to tinker with the GSX-RR motorcycle on the last day of the second 2022 MotoGP pre-season test at the Mandalika Circuit on Sunday (13/2).

Before the third day's session began, Mir was known to have been rushed to a nearby clinic for treatment. At that time, the doctor who handled him suspected that the 2020 MotoGP champion had food poisoning.

As a result, he was forced to miss the third day of the pre-season test at Mandalika. Of course, this is very unfortunate considering its performance in the last two days of testing there is very promising.

On the first day, Joan Mir was in eighth place with 0.778 seconds adrift of the rider in first place, Pol Espargaro. Then on the second day, he managed to improve his time record by posting a time of 1 minute 31.586 seconds and was ranked fifth.

Despite his achievements, currently Mir has revealed his current condition. The Spanish rider admitted that he had improved and expressed his gratitude to all those who had given him support.

“Feeling much better. Thank you for all your messages and support. See you soon," wrote Mir in his insta story on his Instagram social media account.

On the other hand, Mir was also very satisfied with Suzuki's performance during the tests at the Sepang Circuit and the Mandalika Circuit. He also said that he was ready to start the 2022 MotoGP competition which will soon open at the Losail Circuit.

"Unfortunately I couldn't perform today due to some digestive issues. But we have done a very good job over the past few days at the Sepang and Mandalika tests, and we are ready for the Qatar MotoGP," wrote the rider in his post.

Ducati fielded four teams in MotoGP 2022 consisting of one factory team and three satellite teams. For the factory team, Ducati still relies on Francesco Bagnaia and Jack Miller who performed well in the 2022 MotoGP.

Francesco Bagnaia is the 2021 MotoGP runner-up. Meanwhile, Jack Miller finished the season in fourth place.

Meanwhile, the satellite team will be divided into three teams. Call it Pramac Racing, Gresini Racing and VR46 Racing. Pramac is filled with two top drivers namely Johann Zarco and Jorge Martin.

For Gresini, Enea Bastianini and Fabio Di Giannantonio will be occupied. What about the VR46 team made by Valentino Rossi? There entrenched Luca Marini and Marco Bezzecchi.

Seeing that Ducati is preparing optimally for the 2022 MotoGP, Joan Mir said the qualifying session was important for Suzuki. Joan Mir assessed that if it was Ducati who started the race from the front row, it would be difficult to catch up with them.

Joan Mir said that after having a bad experience in MotoGP 2021 when he faced a Ducati rider. He explained that his motorcycle tires had problems when overtaking the Desmosedici Ducati.

"Overtaking was the worst thing last year. When trying to pass the Ducati, my front tire often overheated. As a result, the motorcycle became even worse," said the 2020 MotoGP world champion.

The Spaniard admitted that it would be difficult to compete with a Ducati rider who has tremendous potential if he and the bike don't develop. Therefore, it is interesting to wait for the action of Joan Mir and all the riders in MotoGP 2022.
