MDP Live - The Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly ready to swap two senior players on their team, Deandre Jordan and Kent Bazemore. Both have been removed from the Lakers core team rotation.
At first, Deandre Jordan and Kent Bazemore were starters for the Los Angeles Lakers. Jordan is always believed to be the main center, while Bazemore is often trusted by Frank Vogel to be a winger. Unfortunately, their performance has been less stable lately, which has reduced their playing minutes drastically.
Jordan hasn't played since last Christmas Eve game. Vogel now prefers to play LeBron James as center (small ball lineup). Not much different from Jordan, Bazemore also lost to Austin Reaves, Talen Horton-Tucker, and Malik Monk. Like it or not, he had to be just a bench warmer.
Given that both players have been removed from the rotation of the first team, the Lakers management led by Rob Pelinka tried to swap them to another team. But the problem is that the exchange step will not take place easily.
First, Jordan and Bazemore are old and not as productive as they used to be. The teams out there will certainly hesitate to use their services. Second, the salary in Bazemore and Jordan's contracts is veteran minimum. This figure does not burden other teams, but it becomes a problem for the Lakers. They must look for assets that have a salary that is not much different from theirs.
