MDP Live - The Cleveland Cavaliers finally got the player they were after, Caris LeVert. To get LeVert, JB Bickerstaff's team had to sacrifice some of their valuable assets.
As is known, the Cleveland Cavaliers are indeed one of the teams that want to bring in new players before the trade deadline closes. They want to bring in a combo guard who can play in one or two positions at once. They then negotiated with the Indiana Pacers to get LeVert's services. Through negotiations that were not too long, the Cavaliers finally succeeded in getting what they wanted. The following are the details of the exchange of players agreed by both parties:
Cavaliers get: Caris LeVert, 2022 second-round draft pick
Pacers got: Ricky Rubio, 2022 first-round draft pick, 2022 second-round draft pick, and 2027 second-round draft pick
This exchange of players is quite fair and benefits both parties. For the Cavaliers, they can get LeVert's services to help the team appear competitive in the playoffs. The Cavaliers themselves have performed quite well this season by occupying the top four positions in the Eastern Conference standings.
For the Indiana Pacers, they can also be a valuable asset to rebuild. They don't have to worry about Ricky Rubio's future because the player's contract will expire at the end of this season. Rubio could have been kicked if his performance did not match expectations.
